SANITIZATION MEANING

When we look up sanitization definitions on the internet, we can find the next meaning: “is the creation or maintenance of conditions that will prevent food contamination or foodborne illness and lower levels of disease-causing microorganisms to a safe level. Cleaning is removing surface food or dirt for example from a surface área.

In the case of fruits and vegetables, we can sanitize them by soaking them with a solution of 5 cc of bleach in 1 lt water for 10 minutes. Then another soak with water for 10 minutes.

POSITIVE EFFECTS

When we sanitize, poisoning and cross contamination decrease, this is the reason why risk of contracting foodborne illnesses decrease.

One recommendation is to sanitize and have the fruits and vegetables ready to eat, in order to make cooking easy.
